Poulan Pro 26 hp lawn tractor

Hi I have a 2 yr old Poulan Pro . Yesterday I notice
it's making a screetch when you move from
forward to neutral too fast. And it still wants to
creep forward slowly on neutral. Is there an
adjustment for that? Someone in the know?

Does it have the hydrostat transmission control lever on the right fender?
I sold it a few years ago, but my old (much older that yours) Poulan Pro also did the creeping thing.
On mine, there was an adjustment on a nut/bolt on the linkage under the fender. It was covered in the manual, but I think it was something like "move the bolt in the direction you want the tractor to go", i.e., to stop the creeping.
Don't know on the screech - does it sound like the belt, or is it in the transmission itself?

Hi, I never thought about the belt but it is possible. I hope that s what it is. I'll check that adjustment when my grandson comes. Thanks for the reply. Also want to apologize for the double post. That happens sometimes when I post on my tablet. I have no clue why. Ed Will
