Craftsman Pro series quick change blades

I know that this is Huskavarna built. With the quick change blades it now takes me about an hour to change blades, instead of 10 minutes on other models. The other issue is that the dust covers over the release mechaism on the blades won't stay on once removed. They are held on by some plastic pieces, Local Huskavarna dealer says they have not gotten any mowers with this feature because of the problems. Have others found a solution to this short of changing both mandrals to use regular blades?

Actually the machine is built by AYP. American Yard Products. Much better than an mtd product. Cannot see how they would change the mandrels just for something like that. Take a look on Ebay and type in Husqvarna spindles. There were several in the $14.oo range with new bearings. You need to unmount your deck and air gun the nut off. They just pop apart. Compare the pictures to what you have. If you think things will not fit then by new mandrels. The prices are good. Get back to us.

I'll check it out. I tried removing the quick change mechanism and under it is a regular star pattern shaft like used on regular blades, but regular blades wouldn't clear the underside of the deck.

Ok...well look on Ebay and see if they look the same as far as height. You might need to change the whole mandrel. All three of my machines have the standard setup. They go for around 15 each. Don't you just hate stupid gimmicks?
