My son has a JD 265 mower. The tractor runs and starts great until you turn the mower deck on. After about 150 feet of mowing the mower dies. It will not restart unless it sits for 60 - 90 minutes. Once it restarts it's the same thing all over. They have used the tractor for other tasks for hours at a time and no problems. Anyone run across this?

Wonder if your battery is really weak ? Had that happen on my F725 with a weak battery. I'd turn on the deck and it would die.

If that machine has an electric clutch you need to know that they pull close to FIVE amps when engaged. If you have a flukey charge system or poor battery and your engine has a coil ignition system. You bet it will shut down. Not so much will she crank, you need to measure the voltages. Battery standing should be at least 12.4 volts. When cranking the engine it should stay in the mid 11 volt range. When the charging system is up to snuff you should measure 14.2 volts. Grab a meter and let us know what you find.
