Tecumseh carb/parts

This is not garden tractor related, but looking for either a carb or rebuild kit for a Tecumseh OH160 motor on a Miller Bluestar 2E welder we have at the school district I work at. The stamping on the top of the motor is OH160 17 171F SER 0304E. Any help would be appreciated, local mower shop said could not find any.

(quoted from post at 19:06:11 05/04/18) That?s nice to know but with a school I need a business to contact to buy from.thanks for the info.

If you look at the ebay link you will see the sellers name and location. From that you can look him up directly via google.
He appears to be a "business" but you will have to ask him if he has a business license or whatever validation the school will need.
Carbs are out there to be found as I found many.

Your local repair shop that could not find one was plain lazy and did not want to spend time looking.

I would check with another mower shop. It sounds like your guy just didn't want to take the time to track the parts down. If its the same old round alumium bowl carburetor they built for years you should have no problem getting at least a kit for it. If its the square plastic bowl style, the bowl was in the Rotary (Aftermarket) catalog just a couple years ago. (If the plastic bowl style, you need to know the color of the main nozzle to get the correct one.)

I know that Walbro stopped making the LMH style carb for Tecumseh when they went out of business and they are getting hard to find along with the correct rebuild kit..

It is still a two bolt flange that mounts the carb to the engine. Could you not retro fit a newer one and adapt an air cleaner to it that has the oval or round air filter mount instead of useing the square mount.. Such as.

Being it used at a school is not like dealing with heavy dust and grit out on some pipe line job running 8 to 10 hours a day.

If you have a part number or oem number for the car, try Amazon.com. I just ordered a new carm for my Craftsman trimmer for $11.11. Most rebuild kits cost more than that, plus your time to rebuild.
