No longer available - looking for part

Just aquired a white 1855 garden tractor from a friend. He had it repowered with a new motor. However, to run anything on it (deck, snowblower, ext) I need to find the crankshaft extension that goes on front of the motor. Looking online, everything comes up as not available. Wondering if anybody here may have an idea of where to find one or have one they are willing to sell reasonably.

The part number in the manual is 751-0565

Thanks

That is the one I found. After looking more, I am going to need all the idler pulley mounting brackets and all. I could rig it up with prockets and chain, but prefer to have the slip of the belt if something gets lodged in there. I can always presidential solution something up to be politically correct

The shaft is still available from B/S. Part number for the kit is 841580. GOOGLE "Briggs 841580".

A bit pricey new, used ones come up on ebay from time to time. (Oh, I forgot, you don't like ebay.)

According to tractordata.com, it's an MTD and originally had a Briggs Vanguard two cylinder.
You should have a pot of places to find that stub shaft and if you're really lucky it's an
older tractor equivalent to an MTD 998. Try the Parts Tree website, too.

Understand. You are going to do a little digging to find that stuff. Here is a picture from last month's auction.looked so cute untill you lifted the hood. Want to see what a machine looks like after a full size car battery blows up? What a rotten dissolved mess! Original parts are the best and hope you find them. Now....I had to cut the rear left hub off my Snapper rider to replace the drive system grease boots. Only replacement I could get was from Taiwan. Had to use a rattail file to remove the inside weld on the tube to fit up onto the axle. Took some real determination.

yup... I often search several different ways (keywords, part numbers etc) until I find what I am wanting for the best price..... I won't consider an aftermarket version, for example as being "the same thing" as OEM, if I'm looking for OEM in that instance. I will also look for cross reference numbers and look up those numbers in place of the original as long as it is exactly the same thing as I originally set out to find. Yes a lot of Ebay sellers are crazy what they "think" they can get for something....
I have a few Kohler carbs apart waiting for kits... why pay $22 each when others on ebay sell the same P/N OEM kit for $10 with free shipping to boot? yes sometimes it does take some doing to make sure you aren't getting hosed.
