Tecumseh HH-160 head gasket

Has anybody ran into issues with the head gasket not fitting/or manufactured right? Replacing the gasket on a Case 1816 skidloader, my brother just bought at auction not running. The original fit better than the replacement I received from CaseIH, but still not right. I did run across a different model engine and the gasket looked right, but I haven't found it again yet, maybe a OSH model? The original and replacement just has a round hole for the combustion chamber where it should be square on one half and round on the other. thanks chris

I haven't been around these engines much, sure would like to see a photo of the head and the gaskets that don't fit.

Are the engine ID numbers present and readable?

Have you checked out the Jack's site?

Just looked at Jacks, he has the same gasket that I have, but lists it for a 140 and 160 which it works laying it on the block but not on the head. My head has 18 HP casted in it and looks like it came on the engine. I ordered a 18 HP gasket and will see how it fits. chris

The gasket 34302 for a OH120 has the right shape.

WOW, that's an "ugly" gasket!

Suppose somebody swapped engines, leaving the same "tin" in place with the old model # (or isn't that what you went buy?

No couldn't find anything on the engine just by what's listed in the owners manual and parts book.
