Cub Cadet resale value?

I sure could use a little insight. The older sister (she is 91) finally moved out of the family homestead and into an apartment. Up until a year ago she mowed two acres with a 2160 Cub Cadet that she bought new in 1995. No abuse and well maintained. How much should she ask for it? Thanks in advance for some worth while opinions.

I would asked $1500. Any cash offers over $1250 I would think long and hard about. They were a fairly good mower but the resale on Cub mowers is not good.

The Cub Cadet 2160 was made by MTD and had a six speed auto gear transmission. It originally sold for about $3000.

The only for sale ad I can find is a Craigslist ad in the Detroit area for $570. https://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/grd/d/cub-cadet-riding-mower/6510739704.html

There is nothing wrong about asking whatever you want, but I doubt that many folks will be willing to pay much for a 23 year old MTD mower with a gear transmission

It appears that you asked the same question a couple of years ago, and the single reply suggested asking $950 and hoping for the best. I doubt that its value has increased.

Thanks for the "heads-up" about the previous post, Tom.

I guess some people just need their stuff appraised every so often.

kinda suprised she didnt go for the hydrostatic drive. i dont think that standard trans mower will bring more than 5-600.00 in the real world.

Hey guys thanks for the comments. Yes she is tough and stubborn but I finally got her out of our parents homestead this time. Mother had been gone 16 years and we just settled the estate. Anyhow if she can get 600 I'm insisting that she get rid of it.
