i should of added that this does not have a car coil on it. the coil is under the flywheel and i replaced that and a new coil wire also.

If you gave us the spec number for you k321, we could tell for sure.

That condenser looks like the one for a battery ignition (car coil ignition). Again, without part number, we can't tell for sure.

However, that condenser may be the only one available. I am thinking there are lots more battery ignition K321s out there than magneto equipped K321s.

I'm guessing your condenser goes inside beside the magneto. If you have to, you can probably connect this condenser to the same connection on the points as the wire from the magneto and then ground the case to the block close by.

Think the one with the yellow band is for batt. ign. (car type), the other for a mag.

FACT is, either condenser (if functional/not defective) will work and allow the ignition system to produce spark.

The unknown is if the capacitance values may differ a bit. If they do, the points may pit excessively over time, but for the short term, swapping one condenser for the other will NOT cause total loss of spark.

Is your original condenser known to be "bad", or is it missing entirely? Point being a good, working original condenser is most likely more reliable than what you are going to find on the market today.

the model is k321ep and the speck is 60264D and the condenser does bolt to the side of the motor near the points and the coil part number is 4775520s it is supposed to replace the the original coil that was discontinued years ago. the coil is identical to the one i took off.

The Condenser you originally have is seen the Kohler K161 with a Magneto System and with a Recoil Start. Looks like you will need Kohler #[b:d291ac8623]220434-S[/b:d291ac8623].
