Graverly "L" walk-behind mower

I've gotten a hole of a n old Graverly mower, this is the one with a single blade round type mower, also has a sickle bar, an extra rear end , I can't find an old book on it, would like to get it running, I also need a starter. It's chain driven, I've found the chain and sprocket but not the starter. The local man that fixes them , says this one is shot . Anyone know where a book or parts is located. Thanks.

There are several websites where you can find various manuals online for free. One example is:

The Gravely L was made for several decades. While the basic design remained the same, there were a number of changes (improvements?) made over the years. It helps to know the general vintage of your machine. There are a number of places that sell new parts. One example is:

Also go find , Gravely Tractor Club of America. Dig around till you
find the mannual listing. Every single book, manual. Literature, and
almost anything else you can think of is there in a PDF file for free.

Last weekend I saw a Model L at a flea market the man wanted $120 for it. It had a "Hold" sign on it. It came complete with the mower deck
and ditcher attachment. I called about it later and it was gone. Wish I had been a little quicker on getting there.
