im putting an HM 60 tecumseh engine back together thats been apart for years , this engine has a ball type bearing on the output side & just a bushing on the flywheel side of crankshaft . anyway it has alot of endplay on shaft, is there anyway to ajust this to take up endplay? the manual doesnt say anything on ajustment for endplay just what it should be

Tecumseh use to offer crankshaft shims. But I have not been able to find them in years.

You can get crank shims for Briggs racing engines fairly cheap.

Check with [b:4205e8b99e]Mile High PowerSports[/b:4205e8b99e] for 5[b:4205e8b99e]55652 Crankshaft Endplay Shims[/b:4205e8b99e]

or

[b:4205e8b99e]Rieken's Racing[/b:4205e8b99e] for [b:4205e8b99e]Part# '555652'[/b:4205e8b99e].

Cant say if they will work. But with them being cheap for a set. I would not hurt to try.

You can still download the manual for older Tecumseh engines from several websites.
It includes overhaul procedures and specifications.
