What area do I need to look at, for my 212 falling out of gear, while running,
wore linkage or deeper ? Thanks.

I am not very 'up' on those peerless transaxles, but I was told once that the detent springs get weak and then the shift forks can move on their own. In that same conversation a person said that they can also walk INTO gear-2 gears at the same time- and 'grenade' the transmission. So I would not put off repairs. I am thinking you will have to open up the transmission to replace the detent springs and I would certainly check the fit of the bearings and shafts while in there. And of course, fresh oil and seals while its apart.

Had one doing the same thing. Take the shift leaver out of the transmission, three or four bolts and clean the dirt and dust out of the cover that holds it in place. Put your shifter in neutral so it will go back in easy. That fixed mine. They get dirt and crap in that shifter and it want let it go all way in gear therefore it jumps out. Easy fix if that is your problem. Let's us know if it works.gcm
