John Deere Mower reverse shut off

Every time i back up , even with the deck turned off the kawasaki motor shuts out , it is hydrastat , probably 20 yrs old ,,. has 3 pedals on the rite ,..i have lookt under it cant fin anything ,.. none of the dumazswiches are working but that one ,,. i can getg off the mower with the deck running , and it keeps running ,,. it is only when i touch the reverse pedal just only 1 inch ../

Hi, my mower has a "backup" position on the key. Maybe you can trace the wire or find the switch bug...d. If you can fix that problem with the blades turning when you get off it would be a good idea. My 2ct. Ed Will Oliver BC

What model of JD mower? The reverse switch is in different places.

Sounds like the wiring from the seat switch and reverse switch may have gotten swapped. Here is a clip of the wiring diagram relating to this.
