I am looking for a reasonable source for parts other than JD dealerships. I need to overhaul the brakes on my 300, but don't really want to spend dealership prices of $80 per wheel for shoes. Any legit source will be appreciated. Thank you.

It's likely you could find some darned good used ones on ebay reasonably.

Typically, brakes on hydros NEVER get used, only if the tractor was used for plowing or cultivating where short turns were needed, or a BLEM has driven it for a long time with the parking brake on.

Thank you. I'll check both EBay and Craigslist. Good point on the brake usage, it makes perfect sense. I have no idea what is inside the drums as I have never had them off in the 3 years I've had the tractor. I just know there are no brakes. I'll get it torn apart this winter so I know what I have. Thanks again for the tip.
