Craftsman 20/46 deck height

We have a Craftsman 20/46 gold colored riding mower that's about 10 years old. It seems like when we first got it I mowed with the deck height setting at 3 or 4. Over time that has come up to mowing at level setting 5. 4 almost cuts it at the ground. I looked under the unit and at the deck. I don't see any way to set it up any higher than it is. What am I missing? gm

I will tell you a good one on Craftsman deck adjustments..

A Sears "tech" came to a guys house three times to hack on the deck of his mower that would only raise to about 3" at the highest setting. The third trip Sears answer to gaining deck height on a 6 month old mower.

Spend another $300 dollars on bigger tires..

When was the last time you put air in the tires? Set the rears at 15 and the fronts at about 20.

I always air the tires to firm before I mow. I'm
considering taller tires if I ever replace these. What
befuddled me is it used to run higher thAn it does
now. I suppose between some tire wear and old age
sagging lies the answer.

Check linkage holes for wear out of round. Maybe need to drill out and put larger pins in to tighten up.
