O T corrosion on plug wires

its that time to get ready for winter,,i have a western snow plow on the dodge and even though i kept electrolis grease on the two cables that connect the plow and truck together for lights and the other for power to the pump,, the plugs seem to be oxidizing.is there any solution made to clean these plugs back to a nice shine and electrical connection that i do not have to worry about in the snow storm,,it stopped on me once last year and i wiggled the plugs and they worked good for the rest of the season i m sure someone has a secret that they use and i hope they would share..thanks for your help, john

There are electrical contact cleaners out there in spray form. I've never had a lot of luck with them though. Vinegar works to an extent and is cheap. Some people like soaking in Coke, I don't think it does anything.Getting into the pug with a scraper of some sort and manually cleaning works best for me. Then put the grease to it.

I wonder if milkstone remover would work? I don't know if the corrosion is acidic or alkaline.

This is what worked for me. The rear 4 pin plug on the trailer hitch was turning green. Harbor Freight has those little brushes for cleaning tourch tips and I was sitting on a 5 gallon bucket. A little water and some barkeepers friend. Plenty of bar keepers and make a paste. Let it work and scrub now and then. Also a 22cal. brass cleaning brush. When done wash with plenty of water. Use enough silicone grease till it squishes out every time you plug in. Works perfect now.
