We have a Husqvarna lawn tractor 15 hp 42 inch, the first couple of deck belts lasted for years, even one bought online. I got one locally and it only lasted for a couple of years, and now we bought one online this spring and it doesn't look so good. I guess we need to specify Kevlar next time. I have checked all the bearings and sheave alignment and can't find anything wrong.

I have posted several times about the blue Kevlar belts 5hat tractor supply has. Had very good results. Someone else is going to post about oem but I think you should buy one of the blue belts and give it a try. They even have a cross over guide for the correct size. The area for the belts looks like a whole bunch of pigeon holes.

If you check belts at auto parts stores like NAPA. Pay attention to the part numbers.

Look for ones that end with [b:4bf4adef73]W[/b:4bf4adef73].

For example a belt part number [b:4bf4adef73]4L880[/b:4bf4adef73] (made for a car/truck) will not last half as long as a belt with part number 4L880W[b:4bf4adef73] ("fractional Horse Power" belts made for equipment). [/b:4bf4adef73]

I know you said you checked belt alignment, but are the pulley flanges themselves rusty?

Just looked at one of my mowers today. That belt has been on for over a month and three couple of acher mowings. Looks very close to new. Still very happy with them. Nice to find something that works.
