While trying to troubleshoot this motor for not charging I unhooked the ground wire from the battery, the wire coming out of the stator at the
rectifier AC wire started getting hot fast, I cut the motor off fast. The rectifier is grounded good and I also tried it with an additional grounding
wire. Do you think the rectifier or stator or both being bad? Thanfs

Don't know how the stator could cause that. I would guess that you have a shorted diode in the regulator. Pull the outside two wires from the regulator and check for voltage by attaching a test lead to each wore, should read mid 20s AC (not DC) when engine RPM is raised up. Of you have that and are certain of the grounding I would install a new regulator.
