Hi, there was another post about my exact model # mower, but I couldn't reply because if was archived (it was an eleven year old post) So I thought I might ask again.

I have a family heirloom sears riding mower with a six hp Tecumseh motor. Its all original (with the exception of the carburetor bowl which I recently replaced) and it runs and works well.

I would like to know the year it was manufactured but can't seem to find that in my researc. Its sears 131 96310

Go on line and type in Sears.com look in the manuals section. Type in your model number. I found your little machine there. If you dig around there are listing sections that give the year too.

If it reads the same as my two sears garden tractors it was manufactured on Jan 31, 1996. I may be wrong and I am sure someone will let me know if I am.

Hi its a Roper Rally sold by Sears can't nail down the year but its a late 60's early 70's
GB in MN

Hey that looks cute and in very nice shape. A good wax job and take it to the shows. Bet you have a lot of people looking at it.

1966? maybe. 1996? NO WAY!!! I used to have one identical to that back in the early 80s and it was "old" then.

The 131 prefix identifies the manufacturer as being American Yard Products (AYP).

The serial puts it in the late 60 early 70's.

If it has the correct engine. It should have a 6 hp Briggs. And a three speed Transmission.

Hi Mule. Thank you for your reply.
I does still have the original 6hp Tecumseh and still
runs strong (smokes a little)

Thank you

I found what looks like your tractor in the 1970 Sears Spring catalog.
See attached picture with cost information for recoil and electric start models.

Looks like the picturewas too big at 1.03MB so maybe someone can move it to a file on the site and add the link here, Temporarily, it can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ejhgeyf23pwxux8/AADHMEa6sIRd4iBz9NHUBf7qa?dl=0
