Briggs oil dip stick ?

I have Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-Twin 627cc engine that has developed a problem.

The oil dip stick no longer touches the oil and I would like to find a longer dip stick for it.

Can anyone recommend a replacement? Part numbers would be a great help..
 
Dip stick no longer touches the oil as in the dip stick is broken or is it that you need to add oil???????
 
If I remember correctly that engine taks 1 1/2 quarts. Is your dip
stick broken or are you yanking our chain?

I was at the local NAPA picking up a case of 'Red n Tacky'..

A guy walks in dressed to the nines wearing what looked like a Walmart 3 piece suit. My guess, he was the assistant manger at some fast food joint or Law Office.. and it went something like this..

"Father told me the oil in my Chevrolet Bravada (yea I know) was not even touching the dippy stick thing. He also said that I needed get it changed BAD."

"So I wanted to change it and get one that would touch the oil.. So do you have one of those things that will fit my car??"


I was 2 1/2 miles down the road before I realized that I walked out with my 'Red n Tacky'..
 
Now that sounds like the woman who walked into a gas station in my area. She asked can you help me and the guy asked her what was wrong. She told him her car engine had stopped running. So he asked her a couple questions and she told him well the red light come on. The guy then asked which light and she said such and such which was the oil light. The guy then told her do you know what that light is for and what it should tell you. She said well it says something about the oil. He said yes and that should have told you to turn the engine off and she said oh ok. So can you help me and the guy said well we can tow it in but we cannot fix it because you need a new engine
