Puffer air ride seat

Has any one put a Puffer air ride seat suspension on their zero turn lawn mower? I would like to hear the pros and cons of the suspension.

I don't know about a Puffer brand but any seat with a built in air compressor is superior to any other type mechanism available today according to my back. One came standard on my Branson 6530 with high back, armrests, adjustable lumbar and tilt. I added one to my Branson 2400 seat. This worked out slick since it was a new tractor with a new seat, I got the air system which mounts between the seat and the frame of the tractor for about $350 on ebay new. Whole lot cheaper than having to buy the whole seat.

Only thing that has to be considered is height. For the air seat to work satisfactorily you have to have enough pressure to support your weight and get the seat up off the frame and rest on the air bag only....that means a couple of inches or so. Then you need to continue to add air for jolts and that is where the balancing act comes in and another couple of inches depending on your weight. You fine tune for a soft ride, but coarse tune for the jolts....gotta hit a happy medium.

As it turns out, my 6530 has a tilt/telescoping wheel so it's easy to adjust the wheel for the seat height. The 2400 worked in my favor as adding the extra height put me up off the frame of the tractor and it was more like sitting in a p/u vs a sedan on working the pedals. Much more comfortable and my elbows didn't accidentally knock controls out of position.
