I have an 18 hp. craftsman with a transaxle. Can anyone tell me what to put in the rear-end? 90 weight?

Unless its really REALLY old, 90 wt. oil will probably run out of there like it was made of window screen.

You need to give us a model number in order to even give a logical guess.

No one knows nor can give you an honest answer to your question. I could tell you to dump anything from 90 weight to a mixture of 90 weight and Red Tacky grease or even a good hydraulic oil.. But not knowing what you have I will leave it to the Transaxle Swami. He can read minds and internet waves better than anyone around.

What would actually be best would be to know the brand and model number of the transaxle. At the moment, don't know if the mower is hydrostatic, variable sheave, or manual shift.
