I have a troy built pony with a 5 hp brings and I can't getting any spark.Haven't had it running in two yrs.It ran fine when last used.Any help appreciated.

I have had issues with rusty flywheel contacts, but the last one I dealt with was a 11 hp generator. No spark. Pulled the fly wheel and the rotten mice had eaten a section of the coil wire. There was a couple inches missing from right above the coil to right under the flywheel cover. You couldn't tell until you took the cover off. Had to get a replacement coil for that one.

You asked this in tractor talk and had a good number of answer up there.
That said rusty flywheel can cause that as can a shut down wire shorted out or the part on the linkage it hooks to to be shorted out. My push mower had the shut down part on the linkage go bad so it would not run so I just unhook it and it runs fine you just have to touch the wire to ground when you want to shut it off. Or if it is old enough to have points good chance the points need to be cleaned or replaced
