Here's one I've never heard of before!

I had one. Wish I still had it. When you get used to it your can mow around a broom stick. I believe they were made by Swisher

I've seen a few of them sell at farm sales usually bring 5 or 6 dollars, didn't look as good as that one.

They, or versions of them are also used in commercial egg production facilities to help scrap up chicken poop

Not only heard of them...I had one! The deck was a fixed height and no way to adjust it. If you had perfectly flat yard they
worked okay...but barely ok. Not so great on hills and they tended to scrape any little high spots in the yard. They did turn on
a dime though. My father in law gave it to me.

Gave 50 bucks for one back around 1975. Sure beat walking. On the hill behind house had to back up to get some weight over the drive wheel.
The blades were actually adjustable, but a bit involved. Spacers were on the spindles, some above, some below the deck. Remove spindle, place spacers as needed. Always have all the spacers installed, as they filled the space between pulley & blade.
After scalping the high spots a few times, they aren't high spots any more.

I have had several. good machines, adjust height by spacers on one side or the other on blade. They just stopped making them within about the last 5 years, or so
The one that this thread is about, is one of the newest ones because of the fiberglass hood....
were made from late '50's til some time in this century. Swisher itself is still very much in business, currently more well known for tow behind mowers.
