Hey y'all... Question for ya.

We have a Sears suburban in here. Long story but it always had a very slow oil leak from the engine... Never leaked a lot, mabye half a quart in a whole year. The tractor was out of my possession... That's another story... Got it back and now the thing is leaking oil REALLY Bad! We will use it once topped off.... Park it for the night and check it in the morning and there is a puddle and down half a quart from just sitting over night!

The whole darn underneath is now totally covered in oil to the point where I can't tell where it's coming from. Going to clean it up and give it a good once over however I just was wanting to know if anyone else has had any experiences with this model tractor and mabye is there a comnon seal falure aera?

Thanks a bunch!

Hi 9njunkie, I have a number of Suburbans with Tecumseh engines and no it not common for them to leak, but anything is possible with a 50+yr old engine, as you say clean it up good maybe you'll be able to see where its coming from you check the oil pan bolts to see if they have loosened up or the oil drain plug pipe.
