I picked up a little Alamo flail mower at an auction yesterday. I have never seen one like it before. It's about 36 inches across has a 5hp Tecumseh motor and has a decal that says Alamo a mott flail product.I have two mott t38 flail mowers but this is nothing like them asides from the size. The motor maybe a replacement I'm not sure. It appears to be much newer than my old Mott mowers also and uses a shorter flail. Has anyone seen these mowers or know anything about them? I paid too much for it but it was way too cool to leave behind. I hope it will work as well as my old mott mower.

I have some Mott manuals. I'll look through them and see what I have.

I have got one just like that that. Mine has a decal that just reads,"Mott Hammer Knife". Alamo is not mentioned on it. Probably it predated the Alamo take over. It was bought from the local IH dealer in the 50's. It still has the Clinton engine that came on it new. I don't use it but it ran the last time I used it before putting it under the shed here. I turn the pulley on the engine occasionally to keep it free.

I also have a 3 point hitch 60 " Mott flail mower hooked to my John Deere 650 compact diesel tractor I have been using for more almost 30 years. It is the second one of these mowers I have owned. The first one I let a fellow have it so I could sell him the IH Cub 154 lo-boy tractor I had. That was the most useless trouble giving thing I ever owned. These mowers are the kind you either love or hate, no middle ground. I would like to sell the 36' push model, but have no idea of the value.
