I understand this is a low-cost trans, but is there is anyone who fixes these? New trans over $1000 from the dealer. Under 500 hrs, tractor still looks good. Sister took good care of it. Thanks, Fritz

I am thinking that unit has a hydro in it but I am unfamiliar with which one. Get the numbers off the tag on the transmission itself and search for it on the internet. I bet you can find a new one less than $1000.

If you do decide to open up yours and repair it, At the very least I would replace both the piston groups and the block or wear plate they run against and the filter screen. Also, be sure to inspect the differential gears and axle splines. If there is much play at all in them its time to replace them as well. I changed a transmission in a Deere that had stripped the axle splines at about 800 hours. And the differential gears were about totally worn out too.
