h a scott 16 h.p. mower starts good has break and clutch on same pedal when you let up clutch motor stalls took drive belt off did the same thing is there a switch I can not find have no wire diagram thanks Paul

The seat switch can cause it to do that way.

Only three switches that will do that. If you have the tractor in neutral and the engine starts, then let out the clutch. Does 5he engine stay running? Lift up your butt and if the engine dies that means 5hat part of the seat switch is working. Put her in gear and see if you can drive it around the yard. Ok 5hat takes care of more things. If you try to engage the deck and then let the clutch out you could have a bad PTO Switch or the other half of the seat switch is bad or open. Have gone through this with several ma hines and they are all a little different. Lastly you can also have a bad key switch. Do you have one of those stupid ones in the dash about the size of a pack of cigarettes and you need to push a button? Thats all ive got.

I still have a 15.5 hp Orange (with green decals) Scotts I bought many years ago from HD. Currently using it to run my log splitter with the orig. Kohler Command engine, no problems with it over the years...just keep fresh gas and oil and some snake oil in it.
