My Battery light is on continuously, but everything seems to be working well. Any suggestions. This unit has a Kohler Command 22 HP air cooled engine. Thanks for your help.

Using a voltage meter, check the voltage across the battery with tractor running about half throttle. You should get 13.5 volts. If not then your charging system has a problem.

Thank you. The Multimeter reading was 14.3. I am assuming this is good. I appreciate your insight. Thanks again.

Useing a piece of 14-16ga wire (wire with alligator clips help). With the engine running. Hold one end to a mounting screw on the rectifier and the other to a good ground on the frame.

If the light goes out check the voltage at the battery with the engine runnig. 13.5 and up is good (all of my Kohler commands average 14+). If the light is out and you have good voltage. Attach a wire permanently from the rectifier to the frame.

The rectifier on Kohler command engines can lose an internal ground that can cause everything from charging system failour to not showing a charge. The wire trick can correct 99% of the problems and save you a was of cash from replacing expensive parts.
