Spring problems

My son brought 40 tons of crushed limestone for me this week. He was using the Cub Cadet 682 to drag a spike tooth harrow around to level it. I think he must have run it low on oil and not it smokes like an old steam engine, but blue smoke. It had not been run for over a year. Still have cab and blower on it. It has been using a lot of oil and smoking, but got much worse. I pulled the old Snapper lawn tractor out. When I put it away last fall, the starter drive gear failed. I took the model number to the local deere dealer and he was able to find the part and ordered it for me. $6 plus change and shipping. I was mowing with the old Yazoo and when getting nearly done, the axle shaft snapped. Will have to go to Ebay to find one hopefully. The Old Deere STX 38 is still running pretty good. The last chance machine belongs to my FIL. It needs the governor set, but runs pretty good. Has not been started since September, so it may not run either. He went into the nursing home a couple weeks ago. As the Hee Haw crowd used to sing "if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all". Need to get an engine ordered for the Deere ZTR. Then maybe I will have a reliable one.

I don't know what you are looking for but I picked up 2 nice new, never been mounted (proven as to mount them self tapping bolts cut into the aluminum block and it was factory perfect) BS Intek V twin engines off ebay last year in 18 and 20 hp for about $600, free shipping.
