John Deere snowblower

I have acquired a used JD snowblower 32" I believe to be a 732 or 832. The serial number tag is in the photo. Can anybody tell me what the model is from this?

I can't tell you from the model numbers, but a 732 would have had a 7HP Tecumseh Snow King engine (model HSK70, IIRC), and the 832 would have left the factory with an 8HP Tecumseh Snow King engine, (model HSK80, IIRC). There's not much (if any) difference between them other than the engine size (again, IIRC).

The "32" means a cutting width of 32".

Did they even make a 732? Most of the 32 inch I saw were 10hp, with a few 8hp. I had a John Deere 726, and 26 inch was enough for that 7hp in any sort of deep or wet snow.

Just to add something. What gets me on those tech engines is that many if them have no air cleaners! Why bother when there is no dust. What ever floats the boat.

Very few snow blowers used air filters. moisture would freeze on the filter making the engine run rich. I sold Snappers for many years. Never had one with an air filter. There is no dirt in the air when everything has a layer of snow on it.
