New Holland GT22 - HELP

My New Holland GT22 has a 52" mower deck. To start the deck, you pull out a knob on the dash. The tractor is hydraulic drive. It worked great last Fall.

Today I installed the mower deck & belts. When I pulled the knob to start the blades, nothing happened!

Any suggestions on where & what to look at first?

Appreciate any advice! Thanks.

Hi all,

I may have found the problem? Their are two loose and not connected wires near the mower clutch on the drive shaft. I'm wondering if it is an electric clutch? Looks like it may be, and the wires pulled loose when the battery was changed.

The bolt that goes into the end of the motor shaft and holds the clutch pulley, is very tight, I wonder is it turned off CCW or CW? I don't want to break it!

Can I break loose that bolt & pull off the clutch, then replace the wires, or do I need to install a new clutch?

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Hi again!

I'm doing a good job answering my own questions! Hope this helps someone else, too.

The tight bolt at the end of the shaft turned off CCW, after I put a cheater bar on it. Didn't break, thank goodness! The clutch then came off in pieces.

Looks like the electrical connection is in an enclosed area riveted to the clutch casing. That means a new clutch (I think), unless I can "farmerize it".

I'll let ya'all know. Thanks!
