Murry lawn mower shocks me

What would cause my Murry lawn mower to shock me through the handle while it is running? It has a 4.75 HP Briggs, just put a new E3 plug in it gapped at .030. When I started it I was getting shocked through the handle. Never had this problem before.

Try a name brand sparkplug. I am no fan of E3 or First Fire sparkplugs.

It sounds like you are shorting your high voltage to ground somehow. How is the spark plug wire? Is there any debris around the stop switch or under the flywheel cover? How well does it run? Meaning, does it miss when it shocks you?

There's not a plastic bag or something wrapped around the crankshaft, is there?

I am going to put a Champion plg in tomorrow and see what happen. I got that E3 in a box of stuff at a sale so thought I would try it. Thanks for the replies.

That did the trick. E3 plug is not for this mower.
