Plow-Trac sickle bar mower?

Did they make a sickle bar mower for the front of the plow-trac? If so what are the chances of finding one?

I had one years ago, think I got it from the scrap yard. I used it on the smaller Simpliciy, didn't work very well. It had vertical frame bars at the ends of the cutter bar as I remember. I don't think I have it around anymore. I have a rotary mower that I customized - opened up the cast aluminum deck. It's well made, works as a stalk chopper.

Yes, they made them - here is a picture from a Simplicity brochure but it was the same thing as the Wards. I have a couple of them but none are in very good shape. As gtractorfan indicated they weren't as nice to use as some others such as the David Bradley mower. There is little to no counterbalance so they shake like mad which, besides making it uncomfortable to operate, tends to cause the mower to rattle itself apart.

As others have replied , Simplicity works fine , I used mine on a
Simplicity model W low gear just abov idle, cut down winter rye
cover crop on garden . there are all kind of attchments for wards
and simplicity , but maybe hard to find 60+ year old stuff that still
works , I have extra attchments in need of work ? S.E. WI

That is exactly what I could use, a stalk chopper. If you have a picture of what you made I would love to see it.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will have to find another use for this plow-trac besides a sickle bar mower. It currently has a homemade set of cultivators on it, and they way a ton. Maybe I can find a set of original cultivators.
