I know it is a "safety" thing but how is a person suppose to cut grass if
the blade turns off when you go to reverse? Bought new 50" 24 hp CC
yesterday and have not figured out how to disconnect this yet...Had the
same problem in 91 when I bought the one I am replacing now..it was easy
to find the switch and remove it from the system but this has the hydro
foot pedal and I have not found the Magic switch yet...I understand their
intent and assume all brands have this NUT you cant cut grass like
this..Who, how, where can I get a clue or two on where this aggravating
switch is located??Felt under where the reverse pedal is located and have
had no luck finding a wire or anything yet...Can anyone tell me
anything..Might be the reason another one was sitting there that had been
returned..If I cant solve this problem they will have two used ones
sitting there...Thanks for any suggestions--I am not asking you to tell
me to disconnect it-I am telling u I am going to disconnect it so it can
be a useful piece of equipment..

I have a cub cadet LTX 1042 and on the switch key there is a reverse slot. After starting motor turn key back to reverse and push button for reverse motion. Leave in this position and will cut grass forward and in reverse. Pembroke

tHANKS EVERYONE--LOOKS LIKE IT DOES HAVE THE MAGIC F AND W BUTTON--TOO LATE AND TOO MUCH TROUBLE TO GET IT OUT TO TRY TONIGHT..tHANKS AGAIN..

you can thank the Moron who backed over their Child and then sued the mower company,, I am glad to hear they finally do have a way to over ride this "For idiots Only feature"

if its truly new unit it will have a reverse pic on ignition switch start unit up turn key to that position and go knock yourself out mowing any direction you would like. probably the one you had had same thing but it was in clutch switch that had a second position you put it in. read your manuals!!!

You turn the key to the " reverse" position once you start the engine and engage the deck. Then press the lock out switch (rubber covered yellow triangle) . A red light on the dash will light up once the system is engaged. It will stay engaged as long as the operator is on the seat, the engines running and deck engaged.

Thanks-son used it today-worked fine and he said he likes the new mower--if
he likes it-I love it--he will be the official operator..

Yes, old one had a switch on the hydr lever-I removed it the first day I owned it..used it for 25 yrs--will be happy if this one lasts half that long..

Novel idra..course u first have to wade thru the chinese, spanish, pig latin and other versions to get to the few sentences of the English version..

One of my machines has a buttom you need to bush while you have the clutch down. 5he red LED goes on and now you can mow backwards. This is a hydro machine. The other has the key switch so after you start the tractor turn the key back CC one click. This is a manual transmission machine. these are the two I am familiar with. Now if your kid is going to be the primary operator make sure you pound into him to check the oil EVERY SINGLE mowing day!! Other than that have fun watching someone mow your lawn.
