My friend and I are going to restore a John deere 112 garden tractor I believe it has a 10hp Kohler unfortunately it needs replaced anyone know where I can find one?

The only reason you would need to replace it is if the rod has come out the side of the block.
The K-series engines are rebuildable, and parts are around $100.
Machine shop work cost varies a lot, check around locally.
If you really just want to buy a different engine, they are available on eBay
Make sure you get one that is compatible with your tractor - there is a spec number on a label on the engine cowling.
