Hi I have a 1980 case 222 12hp Kohler I went out today to start it and it wouldn't start turned over and the voltage meter read around 13 volts so I knew it was getting charge but it won't start could it be the carb? Please help if you can thanks!

A couple weeks ago my 18 hp twin cylinder wouldn't start, never refused to start since 1980, took a plug out and shorted it out on the block and NO spark. Pulled a dollar bill through the points and it started right up. Conditions must have been just right to make the points corrode....

Thanks Ray I got it running after i pulled the sparkplug out a cleaned it. It just seems that every time I let it set for a day or two it won't start without being hooked to the battery charger

Might be a good idea to go out and buy an NGK spark plug for it. Has fixed a couple of iffy starting engines I have. Briggs and Stratton engines, and Hondas take a BPR6ES plug anything else they can look up.
