Can anyone id this one? I thought it was a MTD but I don't see a number under the seat. Not a lawn tractor guy but it said white and was cheap.

Oops. Here is a pic. Guess I better get another cup.

(quoted from post at 10:27:31 01/27/17) White Outdoor was bought by MTD in 1981 and I think White started this model series in 1980.
Did white build them until 1981 then or did someone else produce them? Do they have any value?

As far I know White Tractor built them as the White Town & Country models. As far value I do not know -- if it is an MTD model and needs work, probably not worth any more than a similar MTD of that year.

Thank you. I will have to look at it a little closer. Looking a tractor data the only 8hp 32 in cut I see is a 1990. Model L8 . I will try to find an ID tag.

I saw this one at an Oliver show this fall in PA. A real cream puff. According to TractorData it is a '75-76 model so pre-MTD.

Well, IF its the White on the trailer you are asking about, it is an MTD product. Probably about 25 years old. You engage the blades by lowering the lift handle in the right fender in the picture. The serial tag probably long gone. If you want to fix it up, the parts are probably still available to do so.

It has actually been a while since I worked on one of that vintage. Most of them have been junked by now. We used to have a customer that still ran one back about 6 or 7 years ago.

It does have an L8 on the hood. So it is a MTD. Good news is it does run and I paid $45 for.
That is a very nice one M2A. Thanks for the help.
