This seemed like the best place to ask this question, I have a JD 826 2 stage snowblower I think it's from the 1980s. It is very hard to put in gear, and I have to forcefully hold it in each gear slot. Then when I pull the "clutch" lever it will barley drive itself. Reverse barley will move and the fastest forward gear just crawls along,. Last year I would have had to run behind it in high gear. I havnt used it in 2 years, just stabilize fuel and start occasionally and change fuel 6 monthly. I've been trying to sell it, but no snow means no one wants to buy. But lots of interest this year. just discovered this problem last night so I havnt done anything with it. And it's too cold to be out with my 2 yr old much today, I just want some ideas on what to check for later tonight. I don't have any knowledge of these types of machines. It has had drips of oil leaking out of it. Is there a transmission fluid in it or is it belt drive?
Thanks for any help.
