I'm always looking for a fun way to make work into play. I have quite a few ways to haul firewood. Here's the latest idea, I made a platform to set over the frame of a homemade sulky. Ride one way, walk along side the other.

It's a walk behind Simplicity with a newer engine and larger than original tires. I made a sulky for it, then thought about setting a platform on the sulky to use to haul wood. At least I can ride on the way (empty) to the wood pile, then walk along side with the load. I'm curious to see how it will do in snow. Just thought someone might like to see something different.

I have about the same setup. I even made a sulky for my Simplicity too. Lots of fun, but stay away from hills unless your sulky has brakes. No reverse either. When I was in my early Teens, I rode mine everywhere on the Farm.

One of the best & handiest things I added to this one is a kill switch on the handlebar. I wonder how hard or expensive it would be to convert these to hydrostatic. You still wouldn't have reverse with the ratchet hubs. The heavier Simplicity with 3 forward and one reverse gear would be a better candidate, although being heavier it's also less maneuverable.

I like your hauler.
What you should do is look for an old wheel barrow with rotted wooden handles and a flat tire but a good tub. Mount the tub on the front of your tractor with a caster wheel under it. Then you could pile the wood in the tub and ride BOTH ways. LOL
