Is there a Gravely expert on here

I have a I think a 70's commercial 12 and I can't seem to get it shift on the swiftamatic what should I do or look for to get it to work want to use it to blow snow this winter so I really think I need the low range for the drive and high for the blower or would high range for the drive be ok for blowing snow we can get a fair bit here per storm in Eastern Canada and it drifts as well

Well first off.u7ng the...you can use the high range but you will be slipping the drive clutch all of the time. Not good. The swift-O-Matic is pretty simple. If you look down at rhe end of that shufter rod there is kinda a triangle shaped thing. The picture is fron the top and then from the front. This is in LOW gear. If you can shove that plunger all of the way in or out and nothing changes......time to take it apart. I am not sure if there is a shifter fork but I would bet pretty even mo ey on it. They are a pretty rugged system but stuff do happen. Go on Gravely Tractor Club of America and on the right side hit manuals. There are a couple of swift service and install books. Not toooo complicated just a pain in the buttt.

Usually it's a matter of freeing up the mechanism that's sat in one position for years and years. Penetration fluid and oil it up and it should work.
