This is a follow up on my previous post. I believe I resolved the electrical issue on my Onan 16 h.p The engine starts and runs good. I ran it for 30+ minutes with no issues of it shutting off or running rough. I do have a question about starting the engine. It seems to start hard when it is cold. The temp. has been in the mid 40's here at night and mid 50's during the day.. I had to turn the engine over a few times before it started. Are Onan engines cold blooded ? Do they flood out easily? I tried not to fully choke the engine to avoid flooding and it still took a few times before it started. The engine starts fine after it is warmed up. Is there a better way to fire up the engine when it is cold. I have 15/40 w. oil in the engine. I thought a splash of gas in the carb. or a squirt of starting fluid when first starting the engine when it is cold. Any thoughts are appreciated. The carb has been cleaned and adjusted and still starts hard.
