646 Case Hydraulics.

My 646 Case uses 30wt. oil for the hydraulics and it is getting almost impossible to get straight 30 wt. oil. I was wondering what the next best thing to use is. Thanks in advance.

Rotella T1 30WT a 5 gallon bucket = $75.00 or 12 quart case = $45.00.

You could use a 10W30. You still have the velocity of a 30 weight at 212 degrees F and a 10 weight when cold.

ACTUALLY, the correct oil, as per the factory, is 20W40 but that is hard to find. If you use the tractor all year round in a climate that has warm summers and chilly winters, then many owners use 15W40 Shell Rotella T. If your winters are on the mild side and your summers are hot, then choose 20W50 from a reputable company. The above is not to say that straight grade 30 weight detergent oil is wrong. It works quite well.
