Bad vibrations?

Guy walked into the mower parts place a couple of days ago with this! He was mowing and it really started to vibrate badly. The new blade on the counter is the correct replacement. Worn out ya think?

I don't see many that just break in two. I would suspect that the crankshaft is bent and puting a bad harmonic in the blade, causing it to work harden at the end of the blade adapter. (Springing up and down) Don't be surprised if the new blade soon fails.

I was in the lawnmower shop awhile back and this senior gent and his wife come in. Gent places the blade on the counter and his comment was "I think I need a new one". Other than being broken, this used blade looks new in comparison. Don't know if it was just neglect, or lack of funds....may have been both looking at them but it was longggggg overdue for replacement.

His crankshaft is bent. When I was selling Snappers. A guy came in with a 21" walk behind that had a vibration. Took me 2 seconds to figure out the problem. I told him he needed a new engine as his crank was bent. He was too tight and said he would just use it as is. I warned him that was not a good idea. Later he came back wanting to trade for a new mower. His old mower the blade broke and flew out and broke off the left rear wheel! He wanted me to give him $250 on trade! Didn't happen and he never came back.

I had a blade one time shear the spindle bolts by hitting a rock but never saw a blade break. You customer ought to consider himself lucky no one got hurt or worse.
