Plow-Trac Garden Tractor

I just picked up an old walking tractor and I am looking for some information. I know it was manufactured for Montgomery Ward by Simplicity but I am unsure of the year and if the motor is correct. The tag is not easy to read, it has been sitting out for years. What I do know is that is says Article 89-1274, #SIM 99061, Serial # 18961. The engine is a Briggs Model 170402, Type 1168-01, the code is very hard to read but I think it is 74852?1. The first number might be a 1 and not a 7. Any idea what hp this is?

I think it is a simplicity Model H but I am not positive. It only has a set of cultivators on it, which is why I purchased it. I actually want to get it running and use it. Any information would be appreciate.

I have a couple of these I like using, in fact I'll be plowing a neighbor's and my garden soon. A picture would help identify what you have. The literature I have calls the 2 h.p. an L, 3 h.p. an M and the 5 h.p. a V. The 5 h.p. has a 3 speed plus reverse transmission, the others only belt pulley sizes. My "big" one has the original 5 horse Briggs engine. I took it to a small engine shop this summer for a carb. rebuild, it now starts easy and runs well.

Way back then my dad in law had one of those Montgomery Ward garden tractors with a small loader to clean his chicken houses. Wish we still had it.
