cub cadet 1042 oil change reminder

i bought it used with 40 hrs on machine.now at
50 hrs.dash light flashes and says to change oil.
how do i reset this?

Hi I believe you'll find the answer in the owners manual, but from I found it will flash for approximately 2 hrs at 50 hr intervals and then stop until the next 50 hr.

It will reset itself after 1 or 2 hrs run time after you change the oil.

To reset it you must.

Disconnect battery
Remove plug from back of hour meter
Remove the crappy factory installed LED hour meter
Mount a new quartz manual hour meter in vacant hole.
Wire the new quartz manual hour meter according to instruction that came with the new manual hour meter.

It is now reset permanently.

Or you can just wait until the timer ticks over the required hours to reset itself.
