About 7 years ago I put a Briggs Vangaurd in my JD 70 skid loader. It has less then 200 hours on it and now I am getting gas in the crankcase. Problem? Solution?

If it has an impulse fuel pump, the diaphragm could be leaking into the crankcase.

Or if the fuel tank is above the carb, it could be leaking by the needle valve, going into the engine. That would typically show as being flooded on start up.

Or running rich can cause it, choke not fully opening, clogged/restricted air filter, float set too high, jetting problem. Typically show as black smoke, poor performance, excess fuel consumption.

Looks as if Steve has it covered. I have seen only one diaphragm pump do that. Take the hose that goes into the valve cover on the engine and gently suck on it a little. You will find out quickly. If it has a Niki carb on it the time may have come for a rebuild. Ain't cheep and you really need to be very careful. When they are working correctly they are great but can give you a real run for your money.
