FX850v Kawasaki stalling

This engine is on a Gravely Zero turn. 31 hp carbureted.

Runs and starts great except when it stalls after about 30 minutes and than 10 and than less.
Never backfires and choke don't help but the stall is pretty fast.
Still I thought it was fuel. It has a one year old fuel filter. I have loosened the fuel cap, blew out
fuel line towards the tank.Installed a new fuel pump. It ran about an hour and stalled.

It has two coils but it looses both sides. Does it need two good coils to run ?
Have not looked at the fuel solenoid at the bottom of the carb.

I think I need to double check the fuel flow. I have never dealt with coils or that carb solenoid
in my time on earth.

Does it need two good coils to run?
Any hints or help?

Thanks, carpenter

Probably not the coils themselves. Unless something is grounding the kill wires to the coils. The only way to know for sure is to run until it stalls and then check for spark.

I did work on an older Kawasaki that had a poor connection in the plug for the wire for the fuel solenoid, so check the plugs where the engine and chassis connect.

It could be the fuel solenoid, I have seen some fail when hot.

It could also be debris in the fuel tank. Or in the fuel line, or filter. One of the hardest ones I ever diagnosed had a single leaf inside the pickup tube in the tank. It would run fine for about 20 min. and then stall. Then of course, when the fuel flow stopped I guess the restriction would ease, it would start right back up and run another little while.

Thanks for the suggestion on pulling the grounds.
Not likely a coil, correct, as it would still run on one cylinder.
Is that correct ?
Thank you for the link.

Yes. I rigged a spare tank to the role bar and it ran well but I think I was
impatient and removed it to soon to prove anything.

Thank you

Yes it will run on one cylinder and generally run nice but will have little power.

Thanks guys.
Well I got back to mowing and it stalled so I checked the spark and it was
good. Rehung my temp tank on role bar and it ran for the rest of the mowing.
So will be cleaning the tanks.
Thanks so much.
