455 John Deere

I bought a 455 JD today and the model sticker information is missing off the right side of the frame. I have another 455 and the sticker is missing from it also.... worthless glue and when they get washed few times its gone. No way to know serial number or year or is there.....any place else to look? Very irritating, evidently they can't afford a metal tag on a 10K tractor like they used to on the old ones. Swell for the poor parts guys. Rant over!!!
Now, the question is, the front ends are entirely different. The first one has the tie rod straight across at the back of the axle. The one I just bought has a one like is used on the AWS.
I looked it up JD parts online and on Tractor Data and can't determine when they changed from one to the other. Both are 2 WD.
Any of you fellas know about them. Thanks for the help, I haven't been on here for a long time.

Well made unit. Nothing but satisfaction from mine. If it has the original deck get the serial number from it and date the tractor that way. Also the engine has a serial number along with the radiator. One of those will get you in the correct year of manufacture.
