I have a White LT1850 with a B&S v twin engine. It worked fine when I put it away last fall. Now when I try to start it, it blows the fuse by the solenoid under the seat. Any ideas on what could have happened to cause this? It is stored in a garage.

The engine can physically turn over, can't it? Try turning either the engine pulley or the flywheel fan.
How good is your battery? A weak battery can blow fuses. At low voltage, the components will draw more amps to compensate and try to work.
Check and clean your ground connection. Clean both battery cables and posts.
Then try again.

I can turn it over by hand. I charged the battery and also tried jump starting it with another running mower. I'll try cleaning up the ground connection to the frame. The battery connections are clean. Thanks for the help.

Sure your little mouesy friends didn't do a job? You might also find a wire pinch or terminal got bent over some place. Your on /off switch may have taken a dump. Internal corrosion.
