It's on C/L and they don't know what kind of engine it has . It's a 12 hp, and has full side covers on it. Would it be a B&S or Kohler or what ?

Excellent , I have 2 Cub Cadets with that
engine , Any negatives about the tractor ?

I have a closed side Ford LGT 165 which is the same tractor, Jake built them for Ford. Mine is hydro with hydro lift, 12hp may be gear drive with manual lift. Check over the front end real close, that is the only weak spot, steering and such. Parts are available through New Holland, but spendy. I had a lot of front parts made for mine.

I have two of the opensided Fords built by Jacobsen, an LGT100 and LGT145, same tractor but no side covers, they are good tractors but the steering boxes are often sloppy, personally I far prefer the gearbox model over the hydro for its pulling capabilities but the hydros are decent also. The K series engines tend to run hot so you need to make sure all air passages are clear, thats especially important with covers over them.
